1. Pick a Template
Browse through the Wix Studio templates like a kid in a candy shop. Click the "View" button on the ones you like so you can click around and see how the site flows for users. The goal is to find a template with an overall look and feel that pleases you. Don't worry if it has elements you don't need or something is missing. The template is just a starting point.
2. Content Shenanigans
The next step is probably the most painful. It's where you get to agonize over the content of your site. Whether you choose to use stock images or your own, I'll need an idea of what pics to put where. Then there's the copy. Everywhere there's words on the site, I need to know what you want to say. It doesn't have to be perfect. I'll provide feedback and make sure we use keywords properly for SEO.
Process Definition
This is an important one that's often overlooked. The whole point of a website is lead generation. How you handle the lead once it's in your sales funnel isn't really my business, but I do need to know what the funnel looks like. That helps me figure out what questions to include in your contact form, what your booking process may look like, etc.
Magic Happens
Once you have all of the content ready to go, I'll engage my AuDHD superpowers and the next thing you know, you have a website! That's how I hope it goes anyway. A common mistake people make is engaging with an agency before they're ready. Then you end up getting billed per hour playing the indecisive game while they laugh all the way to the bank. Defining your business model while building your website is a great way to waste money. I'd prefer you wait until you're ready.

Transparency Notes
A note on hosting: All Build & Bloom sites are built on Wix, which requires a monthly plan paid directly to Wix (starting at $17/mo). I'll help you choose the right plan and walk you through setup — no surprises there either.
A note on legal pages: You're responsible for setting up the Termly account and going through the questionnaire to generate the legaleaze. Then I'll handle getting Termly and Wix linked to display the disclosures. I don't want to be responsible for actually creating anything remotely legal for your business. Termly's free plan covers the basics. If your business needs more advanced compliance features down the road, Termly offers paid plans you can explore directly with them.
A note on cookie banners: Every site includes a standard cookie consent banner setup through Wix at no extra charge. If you'd like to customize the banner's appearance to match your branding, that's available as an optional $7/mo Wix add-on — billed directly through your Wix account, not through us.

IMPORTANT:
I am not a photographer. It's your responsibility to provide product photos for your storefront or menu. We can use stock photos elsewhere on the site, but not in the store or menu. Unless you want people to question whether or not the item is legit. Best practice is to at least have one photo of each item. They don't have to be perfect or professionally done. A pic from your phone is just fine.

Website for my passion project. I built it using Wix Studio, but I started with a blank canvas. I designed everything on the site in Canva Pro then built the website from scratch. Well, almost everything. Some modules like the store pages and checkout flow are limited in what you can change.
Website I made a few years ago for my notary business: NOTE: While I'm technically still a notary, this website is NOT LIVE. It's a test version so the scheduling won't work but you can click around the site itself.
Add Ons
Pair any package with the extras that make sense for your business.
Extra Revisions - $100/each · The goal is to not need this but if you can't make up your mind, it costs extra.
Domain Setup - $50 · Connect an existing domain to the website or assist with domain purchase. The cost of the domain itself is separate. As long as no one already owns the domain, they're fairly cheap to purchase.
Logo Design - $200 · Only applicable to people who have no idea what their logo should be and are willing to let me do my thing. First, I'll get to know you and your brand/business. Then I'll use Canva Pro to create a logo that doesn't look like it's straight from the 90's. Nor will it make life hell for anyone working on your website or socials.
Copywriting - $50–$100/page · Words are hard. Cost depends on how wordy you insist on being.
Google Business Profile - $50 - $100 · Get set up on Google so local customers can find you. Price depends on whether or not Google verifies the business without issue. If they select you for the verification Hunger Games, I'm more than willing to help but it's super annoying.

Each session is purposely limited to an hour. You'll be expected to do some homework prior to starting the sessions which involves exploring the backend of your website on your own. Seeing what you're able to accomplish unassisted helps me identify areas to focus on so the sessions are more efficient/effective.

I'll do something I hate and record a tutorial video for each module of your site. I seriously hate doing these things but every client I've ever worked with loves them and I get it. They're informative and slightly unhinged. I don't have the time or patience to do multiple takes or a bunch of editing so, yeah. People really like it when my brain goes faster than my mouth and I spend 20 seconds attempting to speak properly. I hear it's entertaining.
Pick and choose which videos you want. I can record them at any time too. They don't have to be purchased at the same time as your site.

Unfortunately, I can't bundle prices for doing anything with your site into nice little packages. Other people's websites are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. It could look like a Porsche on the outside while running a Pinto engine. I won't be able to give you an accurate quote on what anything will cost until I'm able to see what the engine looks like.
Deep Dive
Let's see what kind of engine your site has.
This is something of a trust exercise. I'll need view access to your website's backend so I can poke around and see what we're working with. Similar to a diagnostic for a vehicle, just for your website.

1 hour of going on a scavenger hunt like adventure to figure out the inner workings of your site.

If your website isn't built on a CMS platform like Wix, WordPress, Contentful, etc. this deep dive will end up being more a conversation around whether or not you really need what you have, what your options are, etc. Basically if it isn't built on a CMS, you're stuck needing a developer of some sort to make changes.
SEO Optimization
We all must bow to the Google Gods.
Seriously. We're in the age of keywords and algorithms. Most of us running a small business don't stand a chance at ranking on the world wide web. But ranking locally is totally doable. The goal is to get your business ranked in "near me" searches for the area. I don't consider myself an expert, but I know how to figure out what keywords to use and where to put them. My bakery site started ranking in local searches within a week or two.

Analytics Education
Reports are boring but analytics are super important.
I can't stress enough how important it is to understand what your site's analytics mean and to keep an eye on them. It's the only way to know if the site is working for or against you. Choose an in person session where I'll give you the training wheels version of the training or a virtual session where I'll record videos explaining how to navigate the analytics of your site.

Did you see the $500 on the base package and wish it was cheaper? Or think it's doable but can't afford a couple add-ons you need? I'm open to bartering for exchange of services. If you're a restaurant or farmer, I'm totally open to payment in free food. If you're a mechanic or know a guy, I have an old car I need to get fixed up. I keep hearing stories about how people in communities used to do this sort of thing all the time. Consider this a social experiment to see how many genuine exchanges occur vs. how many people try to exploit me and/or sexually harass me.
Barter System
Feeling some kinda way about AI? Me too. Pretty sure getting laid off this last time was at least partially due to AI. And McKinsey assholes. And for daring to tell a C level douche no when he wanted me to do something against legal's wishes. Anyhoo, regardless of how we feel about it, AI is here to stay. AI in of itself isn't inherently evil. It's the people running the companies that are evil. When used for it's intended purpose as a tool to enhance rather than destroy, it's great. You can't be in software development these days and not use AI. So yes, I know how to use it. But I use it sparingly. Turns out I like critical thinking and enjoy using my brain. AI is super helpful for things like market research since it's basically a glorified search engine, but I will not use it to create your whole site. So don't ask me to.
AI Usage
Testimonials only visible on your site from people who may or may not be made up, are suspicious. Reviews on your Google Business Profile or social media are way better. I suck at leaving reviews despite knowing how important they are. I blame ADHD. But for anyone who leaves me a review, I'll leave one for you.
